clauserat enim eum Sedecias rex Iuda dicens quarevaticinaris dicens haec dicit Dominus ecce ego dabo civitatemistam in manu regis Babylonis et capiet eam

et Sedecias rex Iuda non effugiet de manu Chaldeorum sedtradetur in manu regis Babylonis et loquetur os eius cum oreillius et oculi eius oculos illius videbunt

et in Babylonem ducet Sedeciam et ibi erit donec visitemeum ait Dominus si autem dimicaveritis adversum Chaldeos nihilprosperum habebitis

et dixit Hieremias factum est verbum Domini ad me dicens

ecce Anamehel filius Sellum patruelis tuus veniet ad tedicens eme tibi agrum meum qui est in Anathoth tibi enimconpetit ex propinquitate ut emas

et venit ad me Anamehel filius patrui mei secundum verbumDomini ad vestibulum carceris et ait ad me posside agrum meumqui est in Anathoth in terra Beniamin quia tibi conpetithereditas et tu propinquus ut possideas intellexi autem quodverbum Domini esset

et emi agrum ab Anamehel filio patrui mei qui est inAnathoth et adpendi ei argentum septem stateres et decemargenteos

et scripsi in libro et signavi et adhibui testes etadpendi argentum in statera

et accepi librum possessionis signatum stipulationes etrata et signa forinsecus

et dedi librum possessionis Baruch filio Neri filiiMaasiae in oculis Anamehel patruelis mei et in oculis testiumqui scripti erant in libro emptionis in oculis omnium Iudaeorumqui sedebant in atrio carceris

et praecepi Baruch coram eis dicens

haec dicit Dominus exercituum Deus Israhel sume librosistos librum emptionis hunc signatum et librum hunc qui apertusest et pones illos in vase fictili ut permanere possint diebusmultis

haec enim dicit Dominus exercituum Deus Israhel adhucpossidebuntur domus et agri et vineae in terra ista

et oravi ad Dominum postquam tradidi librum possessionisBaruch filio Neri dicens

heu heu heu Domine Deus ecce tu fecisti caelum et terramin fortitudine tua magna et in brachio tuo extento non erittibi difficile omne verbum

qui facis misericordiam in milibus et reddes iniquitatempatrum in sinu filiorum eorum post eos fortissime magne potensDominus exercituum nomen tibi

magnus consilio et inconprehensibilis cogitatu cuius oculiaperti sunt super omnes vias filiorum Adam ut reddas unicuiquesecundum vias suas et secundum fructum adinventionum eius

qui posuisti signa et portenta in terra Aegypti usque addiem hanc et in Israhel et in hominibus et fecisti tibi nomensicut est dies haec

et eduxisti populum tuum Israhel de terra Aegypti insignis et in portentis et in manu robusta et in brachio extentoet in terrore magno

et dedisti eis terram hanc quam iurasti patribus eorum utdares eis terram fluentem lacte et melle

et ingressi sunt et possederunt eam et non oboedieruntvoci tuae et in lege tua non ambulaverunt omnia quae mandastieis ut facerent non fecerunt et evenerunt eis omnia mala haec

ecce munitiones extructae sunt adversum civitatem utcapiatur et urbs data est in manu Chaldeorum qui proelianturadversum eam a facie gladii et famis et pestilentiae etquaecumque locutus es acciderunt ut ipse tu cernis

et tu dicis mihi Domine Deus eme agrum argento et adhibetestes cum urbs data sit in manu Chaldeorum

et factum est verbum Domini ad Hieremiam dicens

ecce ego Dominus Deus universae carnis numquid mihidifficile erit omne verbum

propterea haec dicit Dominus ecce ego tradam civitatemistam in manu Chaldeorum et in manu regis Babylonis et capieteam

et venient Chaldei proeliantes adversum urbem hanc etsuccendent eam igni et conburent eam et domos in quarumdomatibus sacrificabant Baal et libabant diis alienis libaminaad inritandum me

32:30
erant enim filii Israhel et filii Iuda iugiter facientesmalum in oculis meis ab adulescentia sua filii Israhel quiusque nunc exacerbant me in opere manuum suarum dicit Dominus

32:31
quia in furore et in indignatione mea facta est mihicivitas haec a die qua aedificaverunt eam usque ad diem istamqua aufertur de conspectu meo

32:32
propter malitiam filiorum Israhel et filiorum Iuda quamfecerunt ad iracundiam me provocantes ipsi et reges eorumprincipes eorum et sacerdotes et prophetae eorum vir Iuda ethabitatores Hierusalem

et verterunt ad me terga et non facies cum docerem eosdiluculo et erudirem et nollent audire ut acciperentdisciplinam

et posuerunt idola sua in domo in qua invocatum est nomenmeum ut polluerent eam

et aedificaverunt excelsa Baal quae sunt in valle filiiEnnom ut initiarent filios suos et filias suas Moloch quod nonmandavi eis nec ascendit in cor meum ut facerent abominationemhanc et in peccatum deducerent Iudam

et nunc propter ista haec dicit Dominus Deus Israhel adcivitatem hanc de qua vos dicitis quod tradatur in manu regisBabylonis in gladio et in fame et in peste

ecce ego congregabo eos de universis terris ad quas eiecieos in furore meo et in ira mea et in indignatione grandi etreducam eos ad locum istum et habitare eos faciam confidenter

et erunt mihi in populum et ego ero eis in Deum

et dabo eis cor unum et viam unam ut timeant me universisdiebus et bene sit eis et filiis eorum post eos

et feriam eis pactum sempiternum et non desinam eisbenefacere et timorem meum dabo in corde eorum ut non recedanta me

et laetabor super eis cum bene eis fecero et plantabo eosin terra ista in veritate in toto corde meo et in tota animamea

quia haec dicit Dominus sicut adduxi super populum istumomne malum hoc grande sic adducam super eos omne bonum quod egoloquor ad eos

et possidebuntur agri in terra ista de qua vos dicitisquod deserta sit eo quod non remanserit homo et iumentum etdata sit in manu Chaldeorum

agri pecunia ementur et scribentur in libro et inprimetursignum et testis adhibebitur in terra Beniamin et in circuituHierusalem in civitatibus Iuda et in civitatibus montanis et incivitatibus campestribus et in civitatibus quae ad austrum suntquia convertam captivitatem eorum ait Dominus

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.

032:002
For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.

032:003
For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

032:004
And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;

032:005
And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

032:006
And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

032:007
Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.

032:008
So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

032:010
And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

032:011
So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:

032:012
And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.

032:015
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

032:016
Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying,

Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

032:018
Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

032:019
Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

032:020
Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

032:021
And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;

032:022
And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

032:023
And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

032:024
Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

032:025
And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

032:026
Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,

Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

032:028
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:

032:029
And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.

032:030
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.

032:031
For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,

032:032
Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

032:033
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

032:034
But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

032:035
And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

032:036
And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;

032:037
Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

032:038
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

032:039
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

032:040
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

032:041
Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

032:042
For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

032:043
And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

032:044
Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
