I've talked myself into believing there's no reason God would want us to carry on life if he already knows the outcome. And I've also realized that life is far too mysterious to believe it's as simple as 'what we see is what we get'. From all the searching i've done and all the wisdom i've attempted to acquire over this one subject..I realize that no one else really knows and you have to dig deep in yourself for the answer. Every time I feel discouraged in my belief, I take a moment to really sit down and think about things and look not for what I want to hear but for the truth. And every time I do this..I inevitably realize that God must exist and there's simply a large force of negativity and doubt that tries to force me to believe otherwise. But it's not the truth. When I open my mind..and my heart..and think clearly..God's always there. And I'm thankful for this. This is one of the many reason why I love God."

I don't think I really believe in God. Though I do believe there is something similar to God, with great Power (which we haven't even begun to understand) defining some dimensions, which are totally out of scope of human comprehension. We tend to fool ourself thinking God has enough time to script our destiny when "God" has the whole universe to look after. We have to take it on faith that God exists. Yes, I do pray, not because I just want to be in God's good book, he should know me anyway:-). But I pray out of faith.
We don't need God to carry on with our life. That's how "God" intended us to be. To kill when we were hungry, jungle rule, to not kill when we were/are mature enough to understand that an alternative exists. But somewhere in our evolution as The most intelligent species on earth, someone (like Constantine) thought we need a tool to control the vast populace. That's how religion evolved. It was a good experiment and yielded good results.
Fact "should" be, religion should not be taken seriously (at all), when it comes to humanity. But the painful fact "is", many believe that human suffering is nothing compared to protecting or prescribing or sowing religion. That's where extremism takes seed. Its present in all religions, but in many its nipped in the bud, because there are responsible people, to ignore it or their lives are not so messed up, that they look for an outlet to vent anger/ frustration through such foolish means.
In Islamic extremism, this raw material is available in abundance. There are people who are frustrated because life's not turning out as they planned, even if it is just bringing 2 meals to the table. This problem is Universal. But the solution sought for is not uniform.
Example: It is ridiculous to say Muslims in India are oppressed. In every sphere of life, they've got as much chance of making it as any other Indian, which is very thin, but thin for All. Its when they fail, they start blaming the system/ society. I don't think its necessary for me to count the number of Muslim success stories in all fields in India.
There is no clear cut solution for resolving this menace in near future. We as individuals can keep doing what's possible. But believe me, it will take centuries till we find a permanent solution and I for one hope that it will be void of any religion, void of extremism/ hatred. Religions were designed to serve people, to discipline them, to guide them in a way of life. Unfortunately, designers didn't write down the boundaries within which religion can serve. You see not everyone is Asimov. And now, Religion has taken over and it will rule us to disaster, unless we find "Neo" among ourselves and "pray" for miracle."
