Book 18 Chapter 19

19:1
respondens autem Iob dixit

19:2
usquequo adfligitis animam meam et adteritis me sermonibus

19:3
en decies confunditis me et non erubescitis opprimentes me

19:4

19:5
at vos contra me erigimini et arguitis me obprobriis meis

19:6
saltim nunc intellegite quia Deus non aequo iudicioadflixerit me et flagellis suis me cinxerit

19:7

19:9
spoliavit me gloria mea et abstulit coronam de capite meo

19:10
destruxit me undique et pereo et quasi evulsae arboriabstulit spem meam

19:11
iratus est contra me furor eius et sic me habuit quasihostem suum

19:12

19:13
fratres meos longe fecit a me et noti mei quasi alienirecesserunt a me

19:14
dereliquerunt me propinqui mei et qui me noverant oblitisunt mei

19:15
inquilini domus meae et ancillae meae sicut alienumhabuerunt me et quasi peregrinus fui in oculis eorum

19:16

19:19
abominati sunt me quondam consiliarii mei et quem maximediligebam aversatus est me

19:20
pelli meae consumptis carnibus adhesit os meum etderelicta sunt tantummodo labia circa dentes meos

19:21
miseremini mei miseremini mei saltim vos amici mei quiamanus Domini tetigit me

19:22
quare persequimini me sicut Deus et carnibus meissaturamini

19:23
quis mihi tribuat ut scribantur sermones mei quis mihi detut exarentur in libro

19:24

019:001
Then Job answered and said,

019:002
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

019:003
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.

019:004
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.

019:005
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:

019:006
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.

019:007
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

019:008
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

019:009
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

019:010
He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

019:011
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.

019:012
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

019:013
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.

019:014
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

019:015
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.

019:016
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

019:017
My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.

019:018
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

019:019
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.

019:020
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

019:021
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.

019:022
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

019:023
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!

019:024
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!

019:025
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

019:026
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

019:027
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

019:028
But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

019:029
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
